Take a look back at the original inhabitants of California and the twenty-one missions built along El Camino Real. Students will learn about the different Indian tribes, the founders of the missions, the purpose of the missions, who played a key role in this part of California’s history, and what the missions were like when first opened. We will discuss the roles the American Indians played in these communities and how the missions changed the American Indian culture and population.
Outside Classwork: Students may need to read short passages and complete work not finished in class.
