5th-9th grades
60-minute classes
Wednesdays 12:30-1:30
2 weeks: November 30 December 7
Location: Jewish Community Center of MV & Oso Creek Trail Park
10/10 spaces available Tuition: $50
This two day history class is filled with engaging activities your student will be talking about for years to come. For the first class, students will learn about the Renaissance in Europe and some of the key players and cultural elements of the time. Students will work together to plan a fair to which their families may attend. Students will create their own costumes to wear to the fair. During the fair, students will make crafts, play historic games, eat delicious foods from the time period, and some may even do some mock fencing and jousting! If your student enjoys living history, this is the class for them!
Note: The second class takes place at a park along the Oso Creek Trail where Jeronimo and Arbolitos intersect.
Outside Coursework: Time varies, depending on any crafts, cooking, or costuming the student wishes to do in preparation for the fair.
Instructor: Sarah Anderson
