When in Rome … Ancient Rome and Writing
7 Weeks: January 17, 24, 31 February 7, 14, 21, 28
Location: Mission Viejo Family YMCA
Student dive into the fascinating history of Ancient Rome and take a look at its lasting heritage to the world. This unique empire was ruled from a city and expanded to one of the largest empires in the ancient world. We will take a look at Rome’s talent for borrowing and improving concepts of other cultures, and what made Rome powerful. The focus is on what the Ancient Roman civilization contributed to modern life including technological and architectural feats. As students study Ancient Rome, they also work on summarizing from their notes.
Outside Classwork: Each week students use their notes taken in class and write a paragraph to inform. In addition, students may need to finish up other work not completed in class.
