Robotics Design: Smart Machines (Wed. 1:30-3:30 1/15-2/19)
Robotics Design: Smart Machines
6 Weeks: January 15, 22, 29 February 5, 12, 19
Location: Jewish Community Center Of Mission Viejo (JJC)
Robots are machines that can be driven or programmed and can sense their environment and react to it. Sensors will be the focus of this class. Students will experiment and document their findings with several VEX IQ sensors: bump sensor to start or stop action, touch LED sensor to indicate a detected color, distance sensor to react to walls or obstacles, color sensor to react to a traffic light, and a gyro sensor to accurately control robot movement.
Can you create a self-driving car? A sorting machine? A line following robot? Creativity and research will determine the final projects.
Outside Classwork: TBD
Instructor: Cheri Haggard
