Students will be taught the six big ideas in the Constitution, which include: limited government, republicanism, checks and balances, federalism, separation of powers, and popular sovereignty. In addition, students will learn background information on the Founding Fathers, the Constitutional structure, and why the Constitution was necessary. Students will analyze primary sources; work in small groups to discuss important issues, and play games to reinforce concepts learned.
