Laurie Weir
Laurie Weir grew up around teachers and enjoyed helping her mother put up bulletin boards and get her classroom ready each year. It was a natural choice for her to major in education. After graduating from Jamestown University, she taught kindergarten at an international school before moving to Orange County to teach at a local private school. She has a wide range of teaching experiences including 10 years of full time classroom teaching in elementary education, subbing, tutoring, and homeschooling her daughter in middle school. The idea of offering classes to homeschoolers grew into C3 Classes.
Adrienne Collins
Adrienne Collins feels like everything she has done in her life has been leading up to the creation of C3 Classes. Teaching “school” in the Colorado basement of her best friend’s house somehow bled into an undergraduate degree in Communications, followed by a Master’s in Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder. The years since have been full to bursting with the life lessons of teaching public school, bookkeeping, and homeschooling her two children, all of which have somehow morphed their way into C3. She is absolutely thrilled with the gift that this has turned out to be.
Chess: Joe Hanley
Joe Hanley has been teaching chess to youth and adults for over 24 years. He went to college at Long Beach State and graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in 1991. Joe learned chess from his father when he was 8 years old. In Junior High, he was introduced to tournament chess by the well-known chess teacher Dewain Barber. Since then, Joe has held a lifelong passion for chess and believes wholeheartedly in the value of learning and playing chess. Through his years of chess playing, Joe was able to see first-hand how the game trains the mind for focusing, strategic thinking, problem-solving and critical analysis. These skills greatly enhance intellectual pursuits such as tackling complex math and technical subjects as well as impart life lessons of hard work, self-confidence and self-responsibility.
Art: Sandy Reid

Sandy Reid was born into a family of fine craftsman in the Bavarian Alps in Garmisch-Partenkirchen Germany. From early on she learned by watching and playing in her parent’s workshops attached to the family’s home.
During her childhood she picked up figurative drawing and textile work from her mother, a professional seamstress, and learned the art of leatherwork from her father, a master shoemaker. She began selling her first designer collection of clothing and bags during high school. In her twenties she backpacked through most of the continents to resurge art history and cultural crafts. She studied knitted clothing production in Australia at the University in Sydney and in 1998 she earned her BA in Studio Arts and Child Development in Munich Germany where she worked with special needs children. Sandy Reid has specialized in art education for children since 1995. Sandy’s Art Studio for Children and Teens was founded in 2004 based on a multi-faceted curriculum encompassing contemporary art.
Sandy Reid currently lives in San Clemente, California with her husband and their two children.

Science: Laura Wong

Laura Wong has always been fascinated with science. From collecting snails as a preschooler to getting her BS in Biology at UC Davis to working for nine years in a clinical molecular genetic lab to working at the Ocean Institute, Laura expanded her knowledge in many areas of science. Along her path, Laura’s love of learning led her to acquire master’s degrees in business and in education. She also earned her multiple subject and science teaching credentials. As a teacher Laura is especially interested in creating engaging learning experiences for all learners in ways that develop the feeling that every person is a scientist. Laura enjoys crafts of all kinds and is currently learning to make soap. She is actively involved with Scouting for her two high school aged children and loves to go on family adventures with her husband and children.
Math: Grace Rowell

Grace Rowell has always loved math. Born and raised in California, Grace grew up enamored by its problem-solving nature, calling it “an exciting puzzle that is rewarding to solve.” These days, Grace enjoys helping others solve these puzzles. With perseverance, determination, and a love for people, Grace brings this attitude to her students and loves helping them understand higher level math concepts. Besides helping others understand math, she is a wife, mom of two girls, math tutor (Elementary through High School) and veteran homeschool mom with over 15 years of experience.
Science: Lisa Antonic

Over the past 13 years Lisa, a homeschooling mom of four, has grown to love teaching about the fascinating world of science. After she left the corporate world in 1996 to pursue a career in Montessori teaching, Lisa became inspired to teach science with hands-on experiences and reading through great children’s literature. Later, she embarked on the adventure of homeschooling after four years of teaching preschool through first grade. Her desire to teach in a small group setting bloomed since teaching with a local homeschool co-op. Lisa is an avid collector of children’s books, enjoys cooking, tending her garden, and exploring the great outdoors with her family.
